| In early 2013 Mike completed his statewide study of Mineral Commodities of Arkansas, a project that took over 8 years of literature and field research. The data is organized in an Excel spreadsheet and is available online on the AGS website as the Mineral Web Map. Annually, Mike authors the narrative portion of the USGS Mineral Yearbook non-fuels resources article on mining and industrial minerals activities for Arkansas. He spends much of his office time identifying samples for the public. Mike is planning on retiring in November 2013 after 39 years of public service. | |
