General Description

This publication presents a geologic description of some 184 square miles of the Greenwood quadrangle in Sebastian County, Arkansas.  It presents information concerning the geologic formations, and natural resources including coal, natural gas, sand and gravel, clay, and building stone. 

It includes:

  • Lithologic descriptions of the geologic formations
  • Map of the thickness of the Atoka in the vicinity of the study area
  • Selected coal thickness measurements and estimated coal reserves
  • A table with descriptions of selected wells
  • Fold out colored geologic map in pocket
  • Structure, coal bed and field map of the Greenwood quadrangle in pocket
  • Structural cross sections of the study area in pocket
  • Stratigraphic sections correlating geologic formations with wells and electric logs in the study area in pocket
